STOP & SHOP ALERTS CUSTOMERS TO VOLUNTARY RECALL OF JAMBA AT HOME SMOOTHIE KITS

Purchase, NY & Quincy, MA (April 24, 2015) – Following a recall by Inventure Foods, Inc., The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC announced it removed from sale select Jamba at Home Smoothie kits due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The following products are included in this recall:

  • Jamba Mango A Go Go Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885099; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
  • Jamba Orange Dream Machine Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885168; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
  • Jamba Caribbean Passion Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885169; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
  • Jamba Green Fusion Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885102; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
  • Jamba Strawberries Wild Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885098; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01

Stop & Shop has received no reports of illnesses to date. Listeria is a common organism found in nature. Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.

Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy.

Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.
