A+ School Rewards Returns to Stop & Shop to Help Raise Funds for Schools in the Northeast
Earning Money for Schools Made Simple
Purchase, NY & Quincy, MA (September 16, 2014) – The kick-off to the new school year also marks the start of Stop & Shop’s popular school fundraiser, A+ School Rewards where customers can help earn money for their local schools every time they grocery shop. Since 2009, Stop & Shop customers have helped their local schools earn more than $9 million through A+ School Rewards.
To participate in the program, customers must sign up and designate up to two schools in their local community now by visiting their local Stop & Shop or at www.stopandshop.com/aplus. A+ School Rewards are accrued with each purchase made using one’s Stop & Shop loyalty card. Customers who designated schools last year do not need to re-designate their school(s) but are encouraged to confirm their school IDs by going to www.stopandshop.com/aplus.
Customers do not need to have a child in school to support their local community, A+ School Rewards is open to everyone and customers can sign up to support a school outside of their local community in order to support a friend or family member’s school…the choice is up to you. Registered schools will begin earning points when the program begins on October 3 and continuing through March 19, 2015. Beginning in November, current school totals can be found on the A+ website at www.stopandshop.com/aplus.
“We are proud to support educational initiatives and know that this year’s participating schools will be able to use these monies to enhance their students learning experience,” said Arlene Putterman, Manager of Public and Community Relations for Stop & Shop NY Metro Division. “We recognize that these youths are our future leaders and we’re proud to make this investment in the communities where we operate.”
“Education is so important and we are glad our programs have helped hundreds of schools in the communities we serve,” said Judi Palmer, Director of Marketing and External Communication, Stop & Shop New England Division. “Customers appreciate that A+ School Rewards helps to bring monies to area schools to supplement local programs and funding for kids.”
There is no limit to what schools can do with their A+ School Rewards, including earning cash for technology, scholarships, school programs, field trips, playgrounds, and other educational needs. Last year’s top earning school in the New York Metro area, St. Charles School on Staten Island, received a donation of over $23,000 and Amherst Regional High School in Massachusetts received a donation of over $22,000 through the program.
