QUNICY, MA (Jan. 10, 2013) - With high levels of influenza-like illnesses reported by 29 states this week according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC is reminding New England customers that Stop & Shop is still offering flu vaccinations at all of its in-store pharmacies on demand during pharmacy hours. A list of stores with pharmacies can be found at

The company is offering flu vaccinations for adults 18 and up and also this year can inoculate with an intradermal flu shot which has a much smaller needle.

"The CDC is urging consumers to get a flu shot as the best protection against the virus," said Joel Berman, Director of Pharmacy at Stop & Shop New England Division. "Stop & Shop wants to assure New Englanders that it is still offering the flu vaccinations and we are committed to providing health and wellness solutions across our stores. We're glad to do our part by offering convenient and affordable immunizations each year."

The cost for the flu shot is $30 and most major insurance plans along with Medicare are accepted. Stop & Shop has also partnered with various health-related vendors to offer a free coupon book worth more than $30 in savings, while supplies last, to customers who receive a flu shot.

In addition to receiving an annual flu shot, Stop & Shop has taken extra steps to ensure its pharmacies and health departments are continuously well stocked to handle flu-related prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. Stop & Shop pharmacists are also available to provide on-site flu clinics at workplaces and businesses throughout the community. For more information or to schedule an on-site flu clinic for your office, please call Julienne Tran at 877-439-1313.
