Stop & Shop Triple Winner® Game continues to bring hope in the fight against pediatric brain tumors
Game supports Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
BOSTON- Calling all Stop & Shop customers: Beginning April 19 through July 18, shoppers will have the opportunity to help support pediatric brain tumor care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through Stop & Shop's annual Triple Winner® Game. Customers who give a $1 contribution* to the Jimmy Fund receive a Triple Winner scratch ticket and could be an instant winner of either a free product, gift card, or cash prizes up to $10,000 or could receive a product coupon.
Stop & Shop, in partnership with the Boston Red Sox, has raised nearly $52 million through the Triple Winner Game. This year the company aims to raise another $2.5 million through its in-store campaign, "Donate Hope." The Triple Winner Game, started in 1991, supports the fight against pediatric cancer, at the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber, the most comprehensive research and care center for pediatric brain tumor patients in the United States. This program also provides children with in-depth intellectual and emotional support to help them adapt to their lives post-treatment.
"When someone donates $1 to Triple Winner, they're not just helping to fight cancer, but they're donating hope for countless families," said Joe Kelley, president, Stop & Shop New England Division. "We're proud to continue our support of the dedicated team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who provides exceptional care and treatment for every single child."
"Since Stop & Shop started its support for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at Dana-Faber Cancer Institute, cures for these diseases have risen from less than 25 percent to over 70 percent. Equally important, they have provided us the support to develop new molecularly targeted therapies that avoid the long-term side effects of traditional chemotherapy and radiation therapy, improving the quality of life for all our patients," said Mark Kieran, MD, PhD, director of the pediatric medical neuro-oncology program at Dana-Farber.
"This year, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the relationship between the Red Sox and the Jimmy Fund, we look back at the incredible work that has been done to support the caregivers and patients at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute," said Red Sox EVP/COO Sam Kennedy. "Among those supporters is Stop & Shop, who, through this program, has helped raise millions to eradicate this terrible disease. We are thankful for their partnership as we continue to raise funds for research and the critical care that these young patients need."
