Stop & Shop to Close a Bridgeport Store
Purchase, NY (September 4, 2012) - Stop & Shop Supermarket Company today announced the company will close its store located at 2600 Madison Avenue in Bridgeport, CT. The store will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
"After a thorough review of the operating performance of our stores, we made a very difficult decision to close one of our Bridgeport locations," said Don Sussman, Stop & Shop's New York Metro Division President. "We encourage our customers to shop at one of our other two Bridgeport locations including our nearby, newly-remodeled Stop & Shop located one mile away at 4531 North Main Street."
All associates from the Madison Avenue location will have the opportunity to be transferred to our North Main Street store or to other Stop & Shop stores in Fairfield County. Prescription records will be transferred to the nearby Stop & Shop at North Main Street.
