When the Rabinowitz family opened their store in 1914, they were part of the neighborhood. We still think of our stores that way – all 400+ of them. Being a Better Neighbor is our Promise to you – and that means a lot to us. Last year, with the help of our customers, Associates and vendors, we donated more than $31 million in cash and products to our communities. What exactly do we do to help? We work together to:

Building Healthy Communities

Through Our Family Foundation, we help our neighbors in need with a focus on three key initiatives: fighting hunger, improving the lives of children and building healthy communities. We know what a difference it makes when we all work together. You can also apply now for a donation.

Care for the Environment

We’re not just hoping for a better future: we’re making it happen. From using energy efficient technology to reducing waste in our stores, we’re working to make our environment healthier, cleaner and safer. Together, we can take steps to reduce our carbon footprint.

Product Sustainability

Protecting the planet means protecting our future. At Stop & Shop we work with suppliers to obtain responsibly sourced products and are continuously looking for new ways to improve our processes. 100% of the seafood sold from our service counters is sustainably and responsibly sourced. In addition, 100% of our Nature’s Promise and Stop & Shop seafood items are sustainably sourced – including frozen shrimp and canned tuna.
