Cooking directions. Stovetop method: Step 1: Combine rice, water and butter (optional) in a saucepan. Step 2: Bring to a boil. Reduce heat (medium, medium-low) and cover. Step 3: Simmer 20 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with fork and serve. For best results: For firmer rice, use less water and reduce cooking time. For softer rice, use more water and increase cooking time. Measurements: Servings (cups of cooked rice) - 4 - 6 - About 10. Rice (cups) - 1 - 1 1/2 - whole box. Water (cups) - 2 - 3 - 4.
