Preferred Method. Rice Range Top Directions: What you need: 2 tablespoons butter or margarine. 2 cups water. 1/2 cup milk. 1. In a medium saucepan, combine rice, water and butter or margarine. Bring to a boil. 2. Cover, reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer 15 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed. 3. Stir in milk and Special Seasonings. Simmer 5 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed. 4. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes. Stir well before serving. 2-1/2 cups prepared. Enjoy! Microwave Directions: In 2-quart microwaveable bowl, combine rice, 2-1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine, and Special Seasonings. Cover, microwave at high for 23 minutes or until rice is tender. Let stand covered for 5 minutes. Stir well before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed. Less Fat Directions: Follow Range Top or Microwave Directions, except substitute butter with 1 teaspoon olive oil and use skim milk. Fat reduced to 2.5 g from 11 g per serving.
