Cooking Instructions: Stove Top: In a saucepan bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Stir in 1 cup of rice (add 1 tbsp of butter or margarine and 1 tsp salt if desired). Cover and turn down to gentle simmer for 15-20 minutes or until water is absorbed. Turn off heat and allow to stand, still covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave: In a 2 quart microwave safe dish, combine 1 cup rice, 2 cups water, 1 tbsp butter or margarine, and 1 tsp of salt if desired. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce settings to 50% power, microwave for another 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. It is recommended that only 1 cup of rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate. Store in a cool, dry place.
