Cooking Instructions: stove top: (1) measure 2 cups of water into a saucepan with a tight fitting lid and bring to a boil. Add 2 tsp of butter or olive oil (optional). Salt to taste. (2) Stir in 1 cup of rice. (3) Cover saucepan with a tight fitting lid. Lower the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and all of the water is absorbed. (4) Remove from the heat and allow to sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork. A rice cooker may be used with the same rice-to-water ratio. Yields approximately 3 cups of rice. For softer rice use more water, for firmer rice use less water. Microwave: Combine 1 cup rice, 2 cups of water, 2 tsp butter or olive oil (optional) and salt to taste. Place into a microwavable safe dish with cover. Cover and microwave on medium-high power for 6 minutes. Stir. Continue cooking on medium power for 15 minutes or until all of the water is absorbed. Let rice rest for 5 minutes before serving. Fluff with a fork. These are guidelines only as microwaves may vary. Store in a cool, dry place.
