We rely upon our suppliers to provide us with this information on an ongoing basis and to advise us immediately whenever any new claims or adjustments to declared values are made, so that we can properly maintain the accuracy of this online resource. We have, however, experienced occasional situations in the past where, due to the lack of such notice or for some other reason, minor discrepancies in this area have occurred. We therefore strongly encourage our customers to read the labels of any of the products that they purchase in order to make certain that they are compatible with their own nutritional preferences and expectations. If you receive a product from Stop & Shop, and the nutritional information on the product label does not match the information on our site, please contact Stop & Shop customer service and we will arrange for a credit to issue for the product at issue.

Dried beans are a natural food and should be cleaned like any other vegetable. Sort out any unwanted material and rinse well. Cooking Instructions: Soak: Dry beans may be soaked to reduce cooking time. Place beans in a large deep pot. Add clean water to cover beans by at least 2 inch. Soak beans (methods indicated below). Drain and discard soaking water before cooking. Overnight Soak: Let beans and water stand overnight in fridge or at room temperature for at least 6 hours. Quick Soak: Bring the pot of beans and water to a boil. Boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let it stand for at least 1 hour. For areas with hard water, which may lengthen cooking time, add 1/8 tsp of baking soda per pound of beans or use bottled water.
